Hacer que la academia y la comunidad estén ligadas en pro de un desarrollo sustentable es el fin de la vinculación con la sociedad, por ello, este trabajo tiene como objetivo demostrar que el proceso de vinculación con la sociedad, llevado a cabo por la Facultad Ciencias de la Comunicación de la Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí, tiene como base al altruismo, el compromiso y la organización en los primeros tres años del proyecto. Para la investigación se tomó como contexto las zonas rurales y urbano-marginales de Manabí, lugares que han sido visitados como parte del proyecto: Las Herramientas Comunicacionales y la Economía Popular y Solidaria de Manabí, durante el periodo 2015-2020. Se realizó una metodología mixta cualitativa y cuantitativa a comunidades de la provincia, con la participación de estudiantes y docentes, dejando como resultados que las personas de dichos sectores tienen predisposición hacia el trabajo para mejorar su condición de vida y que, dentro de la vinculación con la sociedad, docentes y estudiantes, progresivamente comprendieron la verdadera finalidad de compartir conocimientos y motivar a la población.
