Este texto plantea que, en las dos últimas décadas, el Derecho Internacional de los Derechos Humanos ha sido un freno para el reconocimiento del matrimonio igualitario en el plano supranacional. Para el autor, los casos sobre la materia resueltos por instancias como el Comité de Derechos Humanos, la Comisión Interamericana de Derechos Humanos o el Tribunal Europeo de Derechos Humanos, habrían sido presentados por miembros del colectivo LGBTI en momentos poco estratégicos, lo que ha generado un entramado jurisprudencial negativo que sólo recién ha comenzado a revertirse.

This text states that, in these last two decades, International Human Rights Law has been a brake for the recognition of equal marriage at the supranational level. For the author, cases on the matter, decided by organisms such as the Human Rights Committee, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights or the European Court of Human Rights, were presented by members of LGBTI groups at a non-strategic time, which has generated a negative jurisprudential framework that just now has begun to be reversed.
