El gabinete virtual de la red de investigación LaGLOBAL es un proyecto de historia pública en torno a objetos de las Américas durante el período colonial y temprano republicano. En este texto tomamos el gabinete no solamente como una colección de objetos que indaga sobre “el lugar de las Américas en la historia global del conocimiento” (https://flacso.edu.ec/laglobal/es/el-gabinete/guia/), sino también como una colección de objetos digitales. Aquello nos permitirá presentar ciertas reflexiones preliminares en torno a los objetos digitales como objetos técnicos, para lo cual nos cuestionamos sobre su modo de existencia desde el debate ontológico planteado por Simondon, Latour y Hui.

The Virtual Cabinet from LaGLOBAL research network is a Public History project about objects from the Colonial and Early Republican periods in the Americas. In this text we take the cabinet not only as a collection of objects that show the “place of the Americas in the global history of knowledge” (https://flacso.edu.ec/laglobal/es/el-gabinete/guia/), but also as a collection of digital objects. This will allow us to present some preliminary reflections on digital objects as technical objects, and for that we question their mode of existence through the ontological debate proposed by Simondon, Latour and Hui.
