The study evaluates the quality of life related to healthand determinants sociodemográficos sex, age, socioeconomic stratum and level of studies of the adultpopulation of Cuenca-Ecuador.

The methodology applies a cross-sectional study of a sample of 280 subjects, a questionnaire was used for determinants Sociodemográficos and the health questionnaire SF-36 to measure the perceived health. The relationship between perceived health and demographic determinants was verified by comparing the variable in the different subgroups. The results show women with worse perceived health. The adult group scored higher than the adult group in all dimensions, except in mental health. The average scores of the group with primary studies were lower compared to those of secondary and higher studies. The educational level influences the perceived health and the socioeconomic level has an impact on the mental component and the bodily pain.
