CASTRO-CEPEDA, Lidia    CORTES- LLANGANATE, José. MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF A RESISTIVE OVEN FOR THERMOFORMING POLYPROPYLENE SHEETS. []. , 28, pp.80-91. ISSN 1390-860X.  https://doi.org/10.17163/ings.n28.2022.08.

In this paper, a mathematical model of a resistive oven for the production of thermoformed sheets, located in a production plant in the city of Riobamba, is developed. The objective of the research is to achieve temperature stability and that when going through the thermoforming process the plates have a homogeneous dimension that guarantees customer satisfaction. For this, the physical variables that govern the phenomena of heat transfer are analyzed; radiation, convention and conduction, and thus obtain a mathematical model that predicts the temperature profile of the oven in the thermoforming process, from which a controller is designed using various control techniques that are efficiently coupled to the system. In the first stage of the investigation, a theoretical study of physical phenomena and the mathematical equations that represent them is proposed. Then they are solved through computational techniques using Simulink and the temperature profile is obtained. Finally, this model is validated by comparing it with those already obtained in previous works through statistical techniques. Finally, a new controller is proposed that guarantees the minimum temperature variability. As a result of the simulation, a variation of ±1 mm in the width of the plate is achieved.
