GUERRA CASTANEDA, Andrés Tarsicio. Dostoievsky and criminology: literature as a method for understanding criminal behavior. []. , 12, 1, pp.88-112. ISSN 1390-7794.  https://doi.org/10.31207/ih.v12i1.326.

This article contains a criminological proposal that, on an interdisciplinary basis, aims for the comprehension of criminal behavior by taking literature and psychology as starting points. For this purpose, the article turns to the novel Crime and punishment by Fiódor Dostoievski since it allows to exemplify the psychological intentions that underlie the execution of a felony. In order to accomplish such interdisciplinary relationships, various theoretical stances are taken, which begin with Poetics by Aristotle and go through psychological theories such as the ones formulated by psychoanalysis, the cognitive behavioral approach, and cognitive social psychology. Based on these contributions, the purpose is to construct a new criminological trend that, from a new perspective, turns into a starting point for the understanding of criminal behavior
