Outsourcing allows organizations to reduce costs, optimize the use of resources, provide added value in services and goods, and concentrate on achieving the strategic objectives of the business. However, many software projects have failed due to the lack of knowledge of the factors involved in its planning. Some of these elements are poor communication with the supplier, weak monitoring of the status of tasks, lack of active participation of users and stakeholders at all stages of the process, and software quality assurance. Consequently, this research aims to aid the management of the outsourcing process and proposes a methodology for its management during system development. The methodology comprises 7 phases, each one with its inputs, tasks, and outputs, which are used by the following stages. In summary, it synthesizes the best practices for the management of third parties.

El outsourcing permite a las organizaciones reducir costos, optimizar el uso de recursos, proporcionar valor agregado en servicios y bienes, y concentrarse en lograr los objetivos estratégicos del negocio. Sin embargo, muchos proyectos de software han fallado debido a la falta de conocimiento de los factores involucrados en su planificación. Entre estos elementos tenemos a la comunicación deficiente con el proveedor, el control débil del estado de las tareas, la falta de participación activa de los usuarios y las partes interesadas en todas las etapas del proceso y el aseguramiento de la calidad del software. En consecuencia, esta investigación tiene como objetivo ayudar a la gestión del proceso de subcontratación y propone una metodología para su gestión durante el desarrollo del sistema. La metodología consta de 7 fases, cada una con sus entradas, tareas y salidas, que se utilizan en las siguientes etapas. En resumen, sintetiza las mejores prácticas para la gestión de terceros.
