INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS

 

RULES FOR THE SUBMISSION OF SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES

 

Economía y Política Journal accepts original and unpublished articles that are not published or in the process of being evaluated by another publication. Articles must be submitted in the format specified in the following Microsoft Word® template which can be downloaded here.

Rules on presentation, structure, length, citation forms, document anonymization, and submission process are downloadable here.

All authors who submit manuscripts to the Revista Economía y Política for evaluation once approved must submit the Letter of Declaration of Authors, as well as the License of authorization and publication of originals, signed by each of the authors. The model of these documents are downloaded in: format 1, format 2; and must be duly completed and signed in the "Complementary Files" section of the OJS, as well as sent to the electronic mail of the Journal (revista.economiaypolítica@ucuenca.edu.ec).

Before submitting the original via the platform, it is important that authors confirm compliance with the journal's regulations with a pre-submission check, comparing the work done with the guidelines for authors provided by the journal.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR UPLOADING AN ARTICLE TO THE SYSTEM

1. On the journal page http://revistaeconomiaypolitica.ucuenca.edu.ec , select the option "register" if you do not already have a username and password. Fill in the format and tick the author box to complete the five-step procedure. If you already have a username and password, log in to the original submission and click "submit article" and then "resubmit" to then complete the five-step procedure.

2. Select the section of the journal you wish to submit to, the language, and the section. If you would like to send any accompanying notes to the editor, please fill in the "comments for the editor" box. To continue, click "save and continue"-

3. Attach the article if it meets all the characteristics described in the rules for authors, click on Browse, select the file and press the "Upload" link. Include all the metadata of the article, especially the information of the authors and co-authors, without omitting any box (it will be the information included in the final publication). Click on "save and continue".

4. To confirm your submission, you will receive an automatic notification with the number assigned to the article.

5. To follow the process of your article, enter the platform with the assigned username and password, once inside, go directly to the article and check the status.

6. If the article has been accepted and the editorial team asks you to make changes, the sending of the corrected document must be done through the same OJS platform, within the created file.

 

RULES FOR THE PUBLICATION OF MANUSCRIPTS

Economy and Policy is a scientific journal that publishes articles of original creation every six months corresponding to research works in Spanish, English and Portuguese and which is included in the Latindex catalog, Dialnet in the databases: REDIB, MIAR and in the Google Scholar global search engine.

RULES TO PUBLISH (Content Indications)

 

The papers will be sent through the Open Journal System platform, managed by the journal, in which the author will need to register with a username and password, and enter their work.

Manuscripts must be original and unpublished and must not be submitted for consideration for publication in another journal, and a signed declaration of authorship is required, available on the journal's website (https://drive.google.com/file/d / 0B4Ib1U1F1sddVy1XOEd5dVcySlU / view).

In the event that the article has been made with public or private financing, all sources of financing granted must be clearly and concisely indicated, mentioning the private or public entity responsible for such financing, and the identification code of that financing, when it exists This information may be included in a footnote or under an acknowledgment heading before the bibliography.

If the manuscript includes graphic material (tables, illustrations), it must be enclosed in the Microsoft Word document containing the article and also enclosed in Excel format (preferably in attached files) numbered and with their respective title, indicating exactly where they should be appear in the text For example: (Graph (N.) ... page (#). Your placement in the text must be clearly marked.

For the specific case of a map made in R, graphics in STATA or E-views, a photograph in jpg etc., it is necessary that in the manuscript is also sent in PDF and that all graphics, tables and illustrations are attached in a editable format for the printing of the University.

The citations and bibliography must be prepared under the APA citation regulations. The articles must be properly supported in a sufficient and updated bibliography. The pages should be numbered and the notes placed at the bottom of the page.

Also in the separate file should be attached the address of affiliation of the author in which a summary of (maximum 80 words) should be included with the basic data of the author: institution, position, professorial category, areas of research teaching and electronic direction.

PRESENTATION RULES (Indications of form)

 

The article submitted for review must be written in the format IMRDC: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusions.

On the first page of the work should include:

- Title of work in Spanish and English.

- The name of the author or authors: this element will be indicated by the first name followed by the first letter of the second name, the first surname and the second surname. The name of each author will be separated by a comma. Each author will link to their respective email address and affiliation address or institution where they work, using a sequential superscript located immediately after the name of each author. In this segment, the ORCID identifier must also be included.

- Authors lacking the ORCID personal identifier must register at http://orcid.org to complete this information.

- Summary of the work in Spanish and English, with a maximum of 150 words. Keywords in Spanish and English, maximum 10.

- Articles should not exceed 8,000 words, this amount includes titles, summaries, keywords, tables and references.

FORMAT

1. Paper size: A4

2. Margins: Top, bottom, left and right of 2.5 cm each.

3. Font size: The titles in 14 points with bold format, and the body of the text in 12 points.

4. Source: Times New Roman

5. Line spacing: 5 points.

6. Alignment: Body of the text: justified / Title: centered

List and address of affiliation of the authors, keywords, subtitles in the body of the manuscript, and the bibliographic list: left.

EVALUATION AND PUBLICATION

 

The original manuscripts received, after being analyzed in terms of form and writing by the technical area of ​​the journal, are sent to the Internal Editorial Committee to verify the thematic relevance for the journal. Once accepted in this sense, they will undergo the external review of two specialists in the field.

The evaluation method used will be the "double blind", maintaining the anonymity of both the author and the evaluators. After the opinion, the changes suggested by the peers to the authors or author will be sent, and once the article is received with changes, the Editorial Committee will decide whether or not to publish it, notifying the authors within a maximum period of three months. Once this procedure has been completed, the articles will be placed on the waiting list for publication, according to the order of arrival to the journal and criteria of the Editorial Committee.

The works that do not conform to these norms will be returned to the authors for their necessary modifications.

CORRECCTIONS

 

The first printing tests will be sent to the authors for correction, which should be limited, basically, to typographical errors or grammatical changes. Variations that significantly alter the layout will not be accepted. To avoid delays in the publication, we ask for the maximum speed in the return of the corrected tests, preferably by e-mail, without in any case exceeding 15 days. The correction of the second tests will be carried out by the Editorial Committee.

Upon publication of a manuscript, the author will be notified to review the material in its electronic version on the journal's website.
