The first ordinary session of the committee period 2019-2021, took place in the City of Quito, at the facilities of the Ministry of Higher Education, Orellana building; with the presence of the following members:
- Lic. Yolanda Otavalo. Operational manager of the SciELO collection.
- Luis Álvarez, PhD. Representative of Salesian Polytechnic University.
- Xavier Latra, PhD. Representative of the Central University of Ecuador
- Jenny Pontoon. PhD Representative of the Universidad Flacso Ecuador
- Elisa Quiala, PhD. Representative of the National Institute of Agricultural Research.
- Pedro Carretero, PhD. Representative of the National University of Chimborazo.

The Committee was chaired by Yolanda Otavalo, delegate of the General Coordinator of the Committee and, as secretary, Ing. Andrea Campaña.

During the session it was resolved:
- Reject the entry of five (5) journals to the collection, due to non-compliance with the format criteria required for entry.
- Approve the immediate entry of one (1) magazine to the collection.

Additionally, the advisory committee analyzes the situation of the collection and resolves that, prior to sending the application for the certification of the collection in the Scielo network, a contingency and evaluation plan will be carried out, in order to monitor compliance internally of criteria.
Finally, the goal is to send the request during the first quarter of the year 2020.
